Server Requirements

If you already have WordPress installed, it means that you meet the minimum server requirements and you can perfectly install this theme without any issues. To get the most out of your website though, you should get in touch with your web host and ask them if they meet the following criteria:

  • PHP version 7.4 or greater.
  • MySQL version 5.6 or greater OR MariaDB version 10.1 or greater.
  • HTTPS support.

Prerequisites

Ignition Framework

This theme requires our free Ignition framework plugin to be installed. Simply visit the Downloads area, download the Ignition Framework plugin, upload it through your Dashboard > Plugins > Add new and Activate it.

It really doesn’t matter if you install the theme or the plugin first. Just make sure to install both in order for things to function as intended.

Read this for more information about the plugin installation procedure.

Theme installation

Installing the theme is a very simple process. Go to your dashboard under Appearance > Themes > Add new, click Upload Theme and upload the zip file. Once uploaded click Install Now and then the Activate Theme link. Here you can find a more detailed overview on how to download and install the theme.

Once the theme is installed and activated you will be forwarded to the theme’s onboarding page.

Here you will be prompted to install and activate the Ignition Framework plugin if you haven’t done so already. Here you can also install our free custom blocks plugin, GutenBee. Through the onboarding page you have access to many useful links, such as the theme’s documentation, our knowledge base articles and direct links to our support hub.

In the Sample Content tab of the onboarding page you can install and activate all the plugins required to import the sample content and proceed with its installation. More info on that on the next section.

How to import the sample content

If you like what you see in our demo website you can simply import the sample content. This means that a close approximation of our demo website will be imported in your WordPress installation. Now all you have to do is replace the content of these pages with yours. Importing the sample content can help serve as a basis on which you can continue to build and expand your site, however keep in mind that this procedure is entirely optional.

A generic video guide on how to import the sample content can be found here.

The procedure:

  • In your WordPress dashboard visit Appearance > Theme Options > Sample Content.
  • Click Install and then Activate for each of the required plugins.
  • Click the Get Started button and in the next screen, move over the screenshot of the builder/variation of your preference and click the Import Demo button.
NOTE: Due to the nature of the import mechanism some links may link back to our demo website. If you are not sure how to update / change these links simply get in touch and we’ll help you out.

Image sizes

Web page loading times are greatly affected by the size of your images. For best results make sure to use images with the recommended dimensions as described below:

  • Main post thumbnail: 770x513px
  • Item: 555x755px
  • Large Item:1170x780px
  • Article Media: 510x510px
  • Mini-cart items: 160x160px
NOTE: If for any reason you want to change the dimensions of any of the predefined image sizes you have to use a plugin. This guide describes the process of modifying image sizes.
NOTE: All image sizes are the minimum recommended, adding larger image sizes will result in cropping them to fit these sizes

Setting up site-wide sections

It’s considered a good practice to set up the areas of your website that you won’t be editing a lot in the future, like the general site layout, the header, footer and some secondary functionality.

General Site Options

You can change your general site options under Appearance > Customize > Site Options. Under the Layout section you can control your site’s, blog’s and single blog post’s layout, as well as the site width and content/sidebar column ratio. The layout can then be overridden in each post/page individually. Under the Colors tab you can select the basic color palette for your installation and add a background image. Finally under Typography you can select the ideal font pairing from a full list of Google Fonts and customize font properties for key elements on desktop and mobile devices alike. You also have the option to disable Google Fonts altogether.

The theme’s header can be split into three distinct sections:

1. Top Bar
2. Logo
3. Main Menu

Top Bar

To edit the top bar go to Customize > Top Bar. Here you can toggle the top bar entirely and fill the 3 content areas with plain text, HTML, or shortcodes. Refer to the shortcodes section below for information regarding the shortcodes. Here you can also customize the color scheme of the top bar, especially useful if you are using the normal header layout.

On the theme’s demo we have a phone number in the left content column:

<a href="tel:+0123456789">+0123456789</a>

and on the right one we have a custom menu for social icons, a language switcher (you will need to have WPML or Polylang enabled and configured for the switcher to work) and a mini-cart button shortcode:

[ignition-custom-menu name="Social Menu"][ignition-language-switcher][ignition-minicart-button]

Logo

The recommended maximum logo size 116x23px. To upload your logo go to Customize > Site Identity. You can upload two logos. The main and the alternative one. The alternative logo can be used if you want a different logo to appear when the header layout is set to Transparent under Customize > Header > Layout. In the theme’s demo we don’t use any logos.

Follow the link for more information regarding the header and its options.

Main Menu

Start here if you are not familiar with WordPress menus.

Navigate to Customize > Menus. Enter a menu name (It can be anything you like) and click on the Create Menu button. In the next page click the Add Items button and start adding items to the menu. Now all you have to do is assign this menu to a location through the Menu Locations section, check the Main menu location and you are done. Your navigation menu should be now visible on your website.

Create a menu button

You can create a special button-like menu item by setting a certain class for to it. The class name is nav-button and you can set it under Appearance > Menus for the item you want. First enable this section from Screen Options.

Menu bar search

To add search functionality (or any other shortcode) next to the main menu, navigate to Appearance > Header > Content and add the following shortcode in the content box:

[ignition-site-search]

The page title section

This section allows you to create an area just below the menu which can display the page’s title & subtitle along with a background image or color.

While Spencer does have this section globally disabled, you can set a common background image for every page on your website under Customize > Page title. You can also change the section’s height, alignment, content and toggle the site’s breadcrumbs. Under the Colors section you can set a background color, a background image, an overlay color and also set the primary and the secondary text colors.

In some cases, you might want to have different background images on different posts, pages and custom post types.

To achieve that create or edit a page. On the right sidebar locate the Page title image field. Upload a new image and preview this page. This will override the image set in the Customizer settings.

NOTE: The purpose of the Transparent header option is to have your main header components (Top bar, Logo & Main Menu) on top of a background image or background color which means that you have to set on in the Customize > Page title > Color section.

The footer area is a widgetized area that can be populated with widgets through Customize > Widgets. You can also remove the credits at the very bottom of this area by visiting Customize > Footer > Credits content. You can also adjust the colors by setting a background color & image and modify the border, title and text colors.

Utilities

Lightbox

The theme offers a lightbox for your images which is by default disabled to avoid conflicts with third party plugins which offer lightboxes. If you want to use it you can enable it under Customize > Utilities > Lightbox.

Weather

You can choose to show the weather for a chosen location using the weather shortcode anywhere inside your installation. First you will need to set it up by providing an API key and location under Customize > Utilities > Weather.

Block editor Dark Mode

Some themes might have a dark color scheme which is reflected in the block editor, this can make working with certain blocks a bit harder. Enabling the editor dark mode using the provided checkbox will apply certain styles to the editor in order to improve the content creation experience.

Setting up the pages

NOTE: All blocks used in the construction of the pages below are provided by the GutenBee plugin unless mentioned otherwise.

Homepage

Start by creating the page and apply to it the default template. Under Page Settings > Page Title set the normal page title, subtitle and breadcrumbs to hide.

The homepage hero section, the newsletter subscription bar and the popular guides section are parts of a global section, to recreate that navigate to Global Sections > Add New.

The section’s content starts with a fully aligned Container block with the theme grid enabled, its height set to 750px, bottom vertical and left horizontal content alignment. Under block appearance we have a light background overlay and a background image applied, additionally we have 140px top/bottom padding. Inside the Container we have a single column with a Heading, a Paragraph and a Button Group block.

The newsletter subscription section consists of another fully aligned Container block with the theme grid enabled, middle vertical content alignment, a background color and 30px top/bottom padding. Inside we have two columns, the left one contains a Heading and a Paragraph, the right one contains a Core Shortcode containing a shortcode from the Contact Form 7 plugin.

Finally, the popular guides section starts with another fully aligned Container with the theme grid enabled. Inside we have a single column with a Heading, a Paragraph and a Post Types block displaying three posts in a three column layout.

Now that the global section’s content is taken care of set it to appear in the Before main location and under inclusions pick the home page we’ve created earlier.

Publish the global section and we’re half way there with the homepage.

Go back and edit the home page, so we can add its content.

The content of the homepage is constructed with just three blocks. First, we have a Post Types block with the alternative style applied displaying 1 post in a single column layout. Then we have a 50px spacer block and then another Post Types block again with the alternative style applied. This time the block displays 6 posts, has the offset set to 1 (in order for it not to show the post shown by the previously added Post Types block) and the number of columns set to 2.

Selecting the default page template means your homepage will display any widgets placed in the Pages sidebar. You can edit these under Customize > Widgets. On the theme’s demo we have a text widget with some HTML code which displays some basic information about you. This HTML code looks like this:

<p><img src="https://www.cssigniter.com/demos/spencer/wp-content/uploads/sites/16/2021/03/about.jpg" alt="" /></p>

<p>Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Aenean sit amet scelerisque tellus. Integer in dolor lacinia, vestibulum justo nec, faucibus ipsum. Pellentesque a rhoncus urna, a pellentesque dolor. Nullam dapibus tellus eu orci congue molestie.</p>

<p>XoXo<br/>
<img src="https://www.cssigniter.com/demos/spencer/wp-content/uploads/sites/16/2021/03/signature_personal1.png" /></p>

Then you can add a search widget, followed by a categories widget and a text widget that renders your social icons using this shortcode:

[ignition-custom-menu name="Social Menu"]

Learn how to create this menu.

Blog

This is you main blog page. You can create a new page and set it as your posts page under Customize > Homepage Settings. You can customize it under Customize > Blog from the Archives section.

Courses

Start by creating the page and apply to it the Full width boxed template. Under Page Settings > Page Title set the normal page title, subtitle and breadcrumbs to hide. Then proceed to the content.

The content starts with a Container block with three columns, their widths are set to 45/10/45 respectively. The first column contains a Heading, a Paragraph and a Button, the middle is intentionally left blank to create some visual spacing and the right one contains a Core Image block. After the section we have a 50px spacer block.

The next section consists of another Container block with a background color set and a 30px padding. Inside we find three columns, each one containing an Icon, a Heading and a Core Paragraph block. After the section we have a 50px spacer block.

The next section starts with a Post Types block with the default style applied displaying three posts in a three column layout. After the section we have a 50px spacer block.

Finally, we have a Container block with a background color set and a 30px padding. Inside we have two columns. The left one contains a Heading, a Paragraph and a Button. The right one contains a Core Image block.

Contact

Create a new Page under Pages > Add New. Leave the Default template selected under Summary and under Page Settings > Page Title set Show Normal Page Title and Show Normal Page Subtitle to hide. Add a Heading and a Paragraph block with your content and a Contact Form 7 block to display the form.

Spencer’s Global Section

Spencer features a Global Section for the newsletter subscription that appears before the footer site-wide with the exception of the Contact, Cart & Checkout pages. Create a new global section under Global Sections > Add New and proceed to the content.

The content consists of a Container block with the theme grid enabled, middle vertical content alignment, a background color and 30px top/bottom padding. Inside we have two columns, the left one contains a Heading and a Paragraph, the right one contains a Core Shortcode containing a shortcode from the Contact Form 7 plugin.

Under the Global Section Settings metabox, in the Conditions tab we have configured where we want the global section to appear.

Image sizes

Web page loading times are greatly affected by the size of your images. For best results make sure to use images with the recommended dimensions as described below:

  • Main post thumbnail: 870x580px
  • Item: 615x410px

1. Top Bar
2. Logo
3. Main Menu

The layout of the header can be set globally under Customize > Header > Layout.

On the demo top bar we use some plain text in the left content area and in the right one we use the custom menu shortcode to display the social icons, the language picker and the minicart button shortcodes.

Logo

To upload your logo go to Customize > Site Identity. You can upload two logos. The main and the alternative one. The alternative logo can be used if you want a different logo to appear when the header layout is set to Transparent under Customize > Header > Layout. In the theme’s demo the main logo is displayed on all pages apart from the front page which has the transparent header layout applied and shows the alternative logo. This is done to create better contrast between the logo and its dark background.

This article offers more information regarding the header and its options.

On the theme’s demo we use the menu split menu layout under Customize > Header > Layout. To make this work we need two menus, one set as the main menu and one as the main menu – left set under Customize > Menus > View all locations.

Create a menu button

You can create a special button-like menu item by setting a certain class for to it. The class name is nav-button and you can set it under Appearance > Menus for the item you want. First enable this section from Screen Options.

The page title section

This section allows you to create an area just below the menu which can display the page’s title & subtitle along with a background image or color.

The page title section can be modified under Customize > Page title. You can choose to disable the page title with background section entirely, change its height, alignment, content and toggle the site’s breadcrumbs.

You can also adjust the colors by setting a background color & image and modify the border, title and text colors.

In the Credits content section you can replace the existing copyright information with yours or use any of the shortcodes included in the Ignition Framework.

Utilities

CoinMarketCap API key

Blockchain offers crypto widgets and shortcodes which can pull and display data from CoinMarketCap. In order to utilize them you need to get an API key by following the information provided here. Once you get the API key you need to paste it in the input under Customize > Utilities > CoinMarketCap.

Under the Widgets panel in the Customizer add a Navigation menu widget in the Services sidebar and select the services menu you have just created for it.

Setting up the pages

NOTE: All blocks used in the construction of the pages below are provided by the GutenBee plugin unless mentioned otherwise.

Homepage

Create a new page under Pages > Add New and set to it the Full width boxed template under Summary. Then under Page Settings > Content Area check the Remove top/bottom content padding box and leave the next option as is. Under Page Settings > Header set the Header Type to transparent and under Page Settings > Page Title set all options to hide.

The homepage’s content starts out with a fully aligned Container with the theme grid option enabled, middle vertical & center horizontal alignment for the content and under Block Appearance an overlay background color, a background image set and 100px bottom margin. Inside the container we find a single column with a Heading, a Paragraph and a Button.

The services section consists of a Heading, a Paragraph and a Post Types block displaying 3 items from the service custom post type in a three column layout. Right after the services section we have a Spacer block with a height of 100px.

The call to action section following the services has the same block layout as the one on the top of the homepage. Their differences are that the Container block does not have a height or content alignment set and has 200px top/bottom padding set under Block Appearance. After the call to action we have a Spacer block with 100px height.

The testimonials section consists of a Heading, a Paragraph and a Container block with two columns. Each column contains two Testimonial blocks. Following the testimonials is another 100px Spacer block.

The partners section is made up of a fully aligned Container block with the theme grid enabled, its vertical content alignment set to middle, under block appearance it has a background color and 100px top/bottom padding. After the section we have another Spacer block.

Closing up the homepage we have a Heading, a Paragraph, a Post Types block displaying 3 team members in a three column layout, finally we have another Spacer block.

Create listing pages for events, services, portfolio items and team members

All listing pages on the theme’s demo have the Full width boxed template applied to them. They also have a custom image selected for the Page Title Background image. All apart from the events listing also have a custom excerpt set which appears as a subtitle in the Page Title section.

The content of the pages is provided by the Post Types block which is set to display 6 items of the desired post type in a three column layout. Team, Service and Event listings use the default block style while the Porfolio listing uses the Overlay one. Finally Services and Projects have the Category Filters option enabled.

Crypto Stats

The Crypto Stats page has the Content/Sidebar template applied to it, a custom excerpt, and a Page Title Image (Page Settings > Page Title > Background image). ATTENTION: This documentation is about the new version of Potenza, if you are using the legacy version please visit its documentation page here.

For more details on the plugin’s installation check out this article.

Theme installation

Installing the theme is a very simple process. Go to your dashboard under Appearance > Themes > Add new, click Upload Theme and upload the zip file. Once uploaded click Install Now and then the Activate Theme link. For a more detailed overview on how to download and install the theme check out this article.

NOTE: The only plugin required for the theme to work properly is the Ignition Framework plugin, all other plugins are entirely optional if you don’t need their functionality or are not planning on importing the sample content. You can safely skip installing and activating them if you are sure you don’t need them.

  • Main post thumbnail: 870x580px
  • Item:  615x410px
  • Large Item: 1170x780px
  • Article Media 510x510px
  • Mini-cart items 160x160px
NOTE: If for any reason you want to change the dimensions of any of the predefined image sizes you have to use a plugin. This guide describes this process.

On the theme’s demo we use some text in the left content area and the language switcher shortcode in the right one.

Logo

The recommended maximum width of your logo is 230px. To upload your logo go to Customize > Site Identity. You can upload two logos. The main and the alternative one. The alternative logo can be used if you want a different logo to appear when the header layout is set to Transparent under Customize > Header > Layout. In the theme’s demo we use the main logo everywhere.

This article offers more information regarding the header and its options.

Main Menu

For extensive information about creating navigation menus please check out our guide here.

Potenza is built as a one-page presentation/landing theme. To make this work we need to create an in page navigation. To achieve this we need to install and activate the Anchor Block plugin, this plugin will provide us with an easy way to add anchor points in the content for our navigation to scroll to. Now when creating the content of a page in the block editor we have the Anchor block available. To create a link to the services section on the theme’s home page we can drag an anchor block just above the service heading and give it a meaningful ID as shown below.

Now we can create a custom link for your site’s navigation and use the id you have set as the URL of the menu item, repeat for each of the homepage’s sections and you are good to go.

Create a menu button

You can create a special button-like menu item by setting a certain class for to it. The class name is nav-button and you can set it under Appearance > Menus for the item you want. First enable this section from Screen Options.

Homepage

Create a new page under Pages > Add New and select the Full width boxed template from the right hand sidebar under Summary. Then under Page Settings > Content Area check the Remove top/bottom content padding, and under Page Settings >  Page Title set all options to hide. Now you can proceed with the content.

We start off with a fully aligned Container block with the theme grid enable, its height set to 800px, the vertical content alignment set to middle, under block appearance we have a background overlay, a background image and a margin bottom of 100px. Inside the container we have a single column containing a Heading, a Paragraph and a Button.

The Services section consists of another Container with 100px bottom margin. Inside we have a single column containing a Heading, a Paragraph and another Container with three columns. Each column of the inner container houses an Icon Box block with the service information.

The hero section following the services has the same block layout as the one on the top of the page with some small differences. First the Container’s height is set to 650px, and second inside we have a Paragraph block in place of the Button.

The pricing table consists of a Container block with a single column containing a Heading, a Paragraph and another Container with three columns. Each column of the inner container hosts a Banner block with center horizontal alignment, a 2px solid gray border and 40/30/40/30px padding. Inside the Banner we find a Heading, a Paragraph, an Icon List, another Heading and a Button.

The testimonials section is constructed with a fully aligned Container block with the theme grid enabled, a background color set and 100px top/bottom padding. Inside we have three columns each one containing a Testimonial block.

The call to action section after the testimonials has a very similar block layout as the one at the top of the page, with the height of the Container set to 650px, and its single column containing an extra Paragraph block.

The about us section consists of a Container block with a single column. Inside we have a Heading, a Paragraph and another Container with 4 columns. Each column contains a Banner block with its horizontal content alignment set to center and a 2px solid gray border. Inside the Banner block we have an Image, a Heading, a Paragraph and a Core Social Icons block with links to the social profiles of each team member.

For the blog section we need a fully aligned Container block with the theme grid enabled, a background color set, 100px top/bottom padding and 100px bottom margin. Inside we have a single column with a Heading, a Paragraph and a Post Types block which displays 3 posts in a 3 column layout.

The clients section consists of a Container block with a single column. Inside we have a Heading, a Paragraph and a Slideshow block set to display 4 logos at a time.

Closing out the homepage we have the contact section consisting of a fully aligned Container block with the theme grid enabled, a background color set and 100px top/bottom padding. Inside we have a single column with a Heading, a Paragraph and another Container. The inner container has two columns, the left one houses the Contact Form 7 block and the left one a Maps, a Heading and a Paragraph block.

Setting up site-wide sections

It’s considered a good practice to set up the areas of your website that you won’t be editing a lot in the future, like the general site layout, the header, footer and some secondary functionality.

General Site Options

You can change your general site options under Appearance > Customize > Site Options. Under the Layout section you can control your site’s and blog’s layout, as well as the site width and content/sidebar column ratio.

The header on the theme consists of four key elements:

1. Top Bar
2. Logo
3. Header content
4. Main menu

The layout of the header can be set globally under Customize > Header > Layout.

The theme’s demo features some text in the left content area and the language switcher shortcode in the right one. You will need to have Polylang or WPML installed for the latter shortcode to work.

The recommended maximum width of your logo is 122px (or 244px is you want a retina ready logo) while you can use any height you want.

o upload your logo go to Customize > Site Identity. You can upload two logos. The main and the alternative one. The alternative logo can be used if you want a different logo to appear when the header layout is set to Transparent under Customize > Header > Layout. In the theme’s demo we use just the main logo.

This article offers more information regarding the header and its options.

Main Menu

If you are not familiar with WordPress menus here is a detailed guide.

The demo’s menu is set to be sticky under Customize > Header > Layout.

Create a menu button

You can create a special button-like menu item by setting a certain class for to it. The class name is nav-button and you can set it under Appearance > Menus for the item you want. First enable this section from Screen Options.

Creating mega menus

This theme provides a multicolumn menu feature as seen under the Elements menu item on the theme’s demo. If you want to use this feature navigate to Appearance > Menus and add a new item with the CSS class mega-menu. Now any direct children will behave as titles for each column and their children will be displayed as column items. You can enable the CSS classes box from Screen Options.

Icons and alignment in the menu

Adding the menu-item-first class along with a class icon like ignition-icons ignition-icons-star for example will keep the menu item align left and add a icon to it. Also, to move a menu item in the end you can use this menu-item-pull class.

You can add icons to menu items by applying custom CSS classes to them, for example you can use ignition-icons ignition-icons-star to display a star next to the menu text. You can also align menu items to the left or right by using the menu-item-first and menu-item-pull classes respectively.

To recreate the Customer support menu item on the theme’s demo add these classes

menu-item-pull ignition-icons ignition-icons-comment

in your class menu box. Check all the icons you can use here, to use them just replace the comment bit with the slug of the icon you need.

Header content

The demo’s header features an AJAX powered product search in the header. This can be toggled and configured under Appearance > Customize > Header > AJAX Product Search as seen below.

Additionally the header features an icon link to the WooCommerce account page and a mini-cart buttons. These can be displayed by adding these shortcodes

[ignition-icon-link icon="user" link="https://www.yourdomain.com/my-account/"][ignition-minicart-button]

in the content area under Customize > Header > Content.

NOTE: The purpose of the Transparent header option is to have your main header components (Top bar, Logo & Main Menu) on top of a background image or background color which means that you have to set on in the Customize → Page title → Color section.

The footer area is a widgetized area that can be populated with widgets through Customize > Widgets. You can also adjust the colors by setting a background color & image and modify the border, title and text colors.

In the Credits content section you can replace the existing copyright information with yours or use any of the shortcodes included in the Ignition Framework.

Utilities

Adding your products

To create a new product navigate to Products > Add Product and start by entering a product Title and Description.

Go to the Product Data panel and select a Simple product with a price and a sale price as shown below:

Next set your Product featured image and product gallery images.

Save the Product, repeat as many times as needed and you can start selling!

You can find a full guide on how to create complex products with attributes and variations here.

Product Categories

Product categories and tags work in much the same way as post categories and tags. They can be created, edited, and applied at any time. This can be done when you first create a product or come back and edit it, or the category/tag specifically. You can also control the thumbnail icon for a particular category as well as the hero page title background image under Products > Categories.

Setting a Product category as a menu item is easy. Navigate to Appearance > Menus and enable Product Categories as menu items from Screen Options.

Setting up the pages

NOTE: All blocks used in the construction of the pages below are provided by the GutenBee plugin unless mentioned otherwise.

ATTENTION: This documentation is about the new version of Nozama, if you are using the legacy version please visit its documentation page here

NOTE: The only plugin required for the theme to work properly is the Ignition Framework plugin, all other plugins are entirely optional if you don’t need their functionality or are not planning on importing the sample content. You can safely skip installing and activating them if you are sure you don’t need them.

  • Main post thumbnail: 960x640px
  • Item: 615x410px
  • Large Item: 1290x860px
  • Article Media: 510x510px
  • Mini-cart items: 160x160px
Please note: If for any reason you want to change the dimensions of any of the predefined image sizes you have to use a plugin. This guide describes this process.
Please note: All image sizes are the minimum recommended, adding larger image sizes will result in cropping them to fit these sizes. In order to alter WooCommerce sizes check this guide

The header on the theme consists of four key elements:

1. Top Bar
2. Logo
3. Header content
4. Main menu

The theme’s demo features some text in the left content area and the language switcher shortcode in the right one. You will need to have Polylang or WPML installed for the latter shortcode to work.

Logo

The recommended maximum width of your logo is 122px (or 244px is you want a retina ready logo) while you can use any height you want. To upload your logo go to Customize > Site Identity. You can upload two logos. The main and the alternative one. The alternative logo can be used if you want a different logo to appear when the header layout is set to Transparent under Customize > Header > Layout. In the theme’s demo we do not use any logo.

This article offers more information regarding the header and its options.

Main Menu

If you are not familiar with WordPress menus here is a detailed guide.

In the theme’s demo you can notice a couple of special menu items labeled Today’s Deals and Customer Support. To create the first one you need to add to it the classes menu-item-first and ignition-icons ignition-icons-star (the star part in the latter class can be replaced with any Ignition Framework Icon slug seen here). To display your menu item with a right alignment you can add the menu-item-pull class to it.

Adding your products

To create a new product navigate to Products > Add Product and start bu entering a product Title and Description.

Navigate to Appearance > Menus and enable Product Categories as menu items from Screen Options

NOTE: All blocks used in the construction of the pages below are provided by the GutenBee plugin unless mentioned otherwise.

NOTE: The only plugin required for the theme to work properly is the Ignition Framework plugin, all other plugins are entirely optional if you don’t need their functionality or are not planning on importing the sample content. You can safely skip installing and activating them if you are sure you don’t need them.

Finally in the Theme Variations tab you have the ability to choose one of the available theme variations for the current theme. Carbone offers one of the same name and the Igloo one. Changing variations will change the color palette of your theme, it will also change Customizer options so be sure to back up your existing ones using the built in tool or another database backup plugin.

How to import the sample content

If you like what you see on the demo websites of Carbone or Igloo you can simply import the sample content.

Image sizes

Web page loading times are greatly affected by the size of your images. For best results make sure to use images with the recommended dimensions as described below:

  • Main post thumbnail: 870x580px
  • Item:  615x410px
  • Large Item: 1170x780px
  • Article Media 510x510px
  • Mini-cart items 160x160px
NOTE: If for any reason you want to change the dimensions of any of the predefined image sizes you have to use a plugin. This guide describes this process.

As you can see in our demo website all pages have a Transparent page header featuring a background image and 3 main components:

  1. Top Bar
  2. Logo
  3. Main Menu

The layout of the header can be set globally under Customize > Header > Layout.

Logo

The recommended maximum width of your logo is 160px.

Main Menu

If you are not familiar with WordPress menus here is a detailed guide.

In our Knowledge Base you can find more info about the page title section, the breadcrumbs and the page template overrides.

Utilities

In the utilities section you will configuration options for various small theme features, such as the built in weather display capability, toggle for the theme’s lightbox, the block editor dark theme, back to top button, social sharing and block widget support.

Read here for more information regarding the theme’s utilities.
