Content Views – Display Posts Grid, List Without Coding

Did you ever want to create a post grid or list but your theme does not offer the layout out of the box? With Content Views you can do that very easily and without having to write a single line of code.

content_views_feat

The plugin supports both posts and pages. You have the option to create grids, collapsible and scrollable lists. The items per content view can be filtered by id, category, tag, author and restricted by number with pagination also being available. You can toggle the appearance of the featured image, title and excerpt/content to get the layout you need. The grid can be made responsive so less items are displayed in a single row on mobile devices to make reading easier. There is a live preview to see how your content view looks like before finalizing it. Once done just paste the shortcode in an empty page and save, that’s it.

Frizzly – Sharing buttons wherever you need them

Today’s plugin of the day is Frizzly. This plugin will allow you to add social sharing buttons wherever you need them. Over images, inside the content and in widgets.

frizzly_buttons

Frizzly allows you to share your images in three social networks; Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter. The sharing buttons can appear on-hover, they can be shown on all or just selected images and finally they can be placed in any content or widgetized area via the use of shortcodes. The social media icons can be customized so if you have your own custom images you can easily use them instead of the default ones. You can also disable sharing buttons you don’t need, if for example you are only interest in Pinterest sharing, you can disable the other two. Finally the sharing buttons can be hidden in specific pages, for example if you don’t want them to show up on your homepage etc.

Drag & Drop Featured Image

Today I’d like to introduce a new section in this blog called WordPress Plugin Of The Day. We will be testing and featuring WordPress plugins that make the content management process a bit easier. Here’s our first one.

 Drag & Drop Featured Image

Setting a featured image on a WordPress post is a matter of just clicking a button and selecting a image. With this plugin you can replace the default upload metabox with a drag and drop zone which makes things even easier. We tested this little nifty plugin with the latest version of WordPress, 4.6.1, and it works like a charm.
