3) Adding Packages

The package post type features four taxonomies, these are Destinations, Types, Duration and Price Range. Start by visiting each one of them and add the appropriate terms to each one. For example under Duration you can add the lengths under which your packages will be categorized, i.e. “Three Days”, “A Week”, “Two Weeks” etc. Similarly for Types, you can set the number of persons each package can accomodate, i.e. “Single”, “Couple”, “Family” etc.
If you decide you don’t need one or more of the four taxonomies you can disable them under CSSIgniter Settings > Package Options.

Once the categorization options are set up, go to Packages > Add New to start creating your packages. Start by giving the package item a title, some text if necessary and a featured image. Then move on to the Package Details metabox.
package_details
Here you can set the duration and price of the package. You can also set it as an offer and make its featured image appear on the homepage’s slider. The information set above, along with the selected taxonomies for each package, will appear on the homepage’s and single package’s slider, along with some descriptive icons, for example this is the display on the single package view:
single_package
The images can be modified under CSSIgniter Settings > Package Options by following the instructions in the “Package Taxonomy Options” panel.

Next we move to the Itinerary panel.
itinerary
Here you can set the package’s itinerary, separated by countries/cities/places visited or on a time schedule like days or weeks. Start by giving the desired title to the itinerary section and then click the Add Field button. On the box that appears add a title, a subtitle and a small description for your first itinerary stop, then either click the Add Field button again or move to the next panel if you are done adding itinerary items. As stated in the panel’s description, the itinerary won’t appear by default. You will have to add the
[package-itinerary]
shortcode in your text editor, on the line you want the itinerary to appear.

Moving on, we have the Included – Not Included panel. Here you can display to your clients what is included in the package and what is not. The procedure for adding items is the same as before with the itinerary. Set a title for the included and one for the not included sections and add items to each one, using the Add Field button. Again, you will need to use a shortcode if you want to display the Included/Not Included section, this time the shortcode is
[package-includes]
You can select to either display only the included or the excluded items by using the shortcode like this:
[package-includes show="included"]
or
[package-includes show="excluded"]

Next we have the Maps – Videos panel. Follow the instructions closely to help you add a map and/or embed a video item to your package.

The easiest way to get started and find your way around using this theme, is by installing it into a fresh WordPress installation, and importing our sample content.
To get it go to CSSIgniter settings > Site Options, scroll all the way down and click the Download sample content link. Extract the zip file you downloaded and upload the xml file in Tools > Import > WordPress (if not already present, you will be prompted to install the WordPress importer plugin), assing the authors to an existing user and make sure you check the “import attachments” box. You can now import the sample content.

You can have a slider with featured posts on the top of you homepage. You can have as many posts as you want appearing in the slider.

In order for posts to appear there, they have to be set as sticky. This can be done via the admin interface, by two different ways:

  • via Quick Edit on the desired post, and then checking the “Make this post sticky” checkbox.
  • via the post’s Edit page, in the Publish box, clicking Edit on the Visibility line, and checking the Stick this post to the front page.

For best results, use the featured image option to display images. They will be cropped automatically in the right dimensions for both the slider and the rest of the blog.

Theme Settings

Our custom options panel can be found under Appearance cssigniter Settings. Let’s have a look at each tab’s options:

Site options

Within this tab you can set your site’s logo text and slogan or even upload your image logo. You can also select your favorite color scheme and set the separator of the title tag for each page / post.

Homepage options

In this tab you can set the “Learn more” text for your slider in the homepage. The slider can be controlled from this tab as well. Set the slider to auto-slide mode and set the duration between transitions.

Display options options

Here you can set whether you want the content or the excerpt to be displayed on listing pages. You can set the length of the excerpt and set a different “read more” text or characters (e.g. […])

Pagination options

WordPress provides only one pagination option. This can be found at Settings Reading Settings. We decided to take this one step further by providing options for various listing pages. The first one is the global pagination which affects all listing pages. If you want though you can set a different pagination option for Categories, tags and taxonomies. The available options are:
Enabled (which overrides the global option), Disabled (no pagination) and Global (which inherits its value from the Global pagination option).

Archive Options

If you want to display an archive page in your blog all you have to do is create a new page and select the Archive template for the templates drop down menu on the right. Then, in this tab you can select how many posts you want to display and select the archive types that you want (weekly, monthly, yearly).

Google options

I don’t think this tab needs an explanation. Just copy paste your Google Analytics code and you are all set for tracking visits.

Feedburner options

Use this tab to enter your custom feedburner feed and email urls.

Buysellads options

Setting up buysellads.com ads in your site is a 2 step process. Use this tab to enter the generic javascript code provided by bsa and then use our bsa widget to display your banners.

Widgets

Various custom widgets are available with this theme. All of our custom widgets have titles like -= Custom Widget =-. Detailed documentation on how each one of them work will be available really soon. (Pretty easy even for beginners to use them though).

Add items from the left hand side boxes (Pages and Custom Links) to the right. Re-order with drag and drop.

Create listing pages for Artists, Discography items, Galleries and Videos.

Go to pages new page give the page the desired title and from the page attributes in the right side select a page template. You have two template options for each type, one with a sidebar and one fullwidth. Publish the page.

Events page setup

NOTE If you imported custom content this is already done!
Go to Pages > Add new and create a new page. From the page attributes on the right, from the Templates dropdown select the Events Listing. Now you can start inserting your events from Events > New Events item. So. Give the event a title so you can remember it. We are not showing the title somewhere. It’s just an identifier for you. We leave the main editor empty (optional) and we move a bit lower in the Event Settings section where we fill the details of the event.
As you can see in the Select the event statusdropdown we have 4 different types of statuses.

  1.  —
  2. Tickets Available
  3. Sold Out
  4. Canceled
  5. Watch live

For Status “Sold out” and “Canceled” you don’t have to set anything else. For Status “Tickets Available” you can insert the URL from the site where people can buy tickets in the input field below with the title “If the event is still available enter the URL where someone can buy tickets”. Same thing for the status “Watch live”. You can also change the default text of the
button (Buy tickets, canceled etc) A last option for the events page is that you can show/hide the events map and the past
events. Just go to Appearance > CSSigniter Settings > Display Options and locate the box that allows you to hide the map.

Discography setup

With hernan you have the ability to provide self-hosted music and music from Soundcloud.

Go to Plugins > Add New and search from the SoundCloud Shortcode. Click install and once the plugin is ready activate it. Now we can use SoundCloud.

Go to Discography > New Discography Item. Set the album title and upload the album’s cover in the featured image section. Now in the main editor you can write anything you want PLUS you can display the tracklisting of your album with the ability to let the users preview your tracks! For this we are going to use a shortcode.

The title, the featured image and the Discography settings don’t need any further explanation but let’s see how we can use the Tracks details.
You may add the tracks of your release, along with related information such as a Download URL, Buy URL and lyrics. Press the Add Track button to add a new track, and individually the Remove me button to delete a track.
Once you add your tracks you may display them by using the [tracklisting] shortcode. By default, it will display the tracks of the current discography item. You may also display the track listing of any discography item in any other post/page or widget (that supports shortcodes) by passing the ID or slug parameter to the shortcode. E.g. [tracklisting id=”25″] or [tracklisting slug=”the-division-bell”]

You can also selectively display tracks, by passing their track number (counting from 1), separated by a comma, like this [tracklisting tracks=”2,5,8″] and can limit the total number of tracks displayed like [tracklisting limit=”3″]

Of course, you can mix and match the parameters, so the following is totally valid: [tracklisting slug=”the-division-bell” tracks=”2,5,8″ limit=”2″]

Videos setup.

Go to Videos > New Video Item, set a title and scroll down to the Video Settings, here you can paste the video URL and if it is hosted on YouTube or Vimeo once you hit Publish it will automatically get the video thumbnail from YouTube/Vimeo and set it as your featured image. Of course if you want you can set your own featured image (if the video is not hosted on YouTube/Vimeo you have to set a featured image).

Artists setup

In order to insert a new artist just visit Artists> New artist. In this section you won’t find any custom fields so you can enter the name of the artist in the title field, use the featured image and the main editor for any content (biography etc.)

Widgets

We have created 11 custom widgets.

  • CI Ads Displays banner ads

Theme features

Post formats

Your theme comes with support of post formats. These allow you to change the behavior of each post, depending on the format you choose. Depending on the post format, an icon appears, post format icon on the right of each post, stating the type of the post, and clicking on that, takes you to a listing page of that post type.
To choose a post format, create a new (or edit an existing) post, and from the Format box, select the format you want. The supported formats are:

  • Standard: This is the standard format, just a plain post that can have a featured image.
  • Image: The image post format, is just like a simple post with a featured image. Of course the post format icon is different. You need to set a featured image for image posts.
  • Gallery: The gallery post format, is similar to the Image post format, but instead of a single image, a slider appears. You need to upload multiple images from within the post, in the same way that you would upload featured images. The behavior of the slider can be changed from CSSIgniter Settings – Display Options.
  • Video: The video post type allows you to embed videos from a variety of sources. On the Video Details box, enter the URL of a video from a supported website, for example:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Z9WVZddH9w
  • Audio: This post format, allows you to embed an audio player by simply pasting a URL to an MP3 file. You can either upload the audio file via the WordPress Media Gallery and use it, or type any URL to an audio file. Supported audio file formats are: .mp3, .mp4, .m4a, .ogg and .oga, but we recommend that you always use .mp3 files for maximum compatibility across browsers.
  • Quote: This post format allows you to post a quote, with proper attribution to the source. You enter the quote on the Quoted text box, the name of the person who said it on the Cite box, and optionally the URL of the webpage that you took the quote from in the Citation URL box.

Love it button

Pintores comes with its own custom-made CSSIgniter love-it button, just like Pinterest’s and Facebook’s “Like” button. There’s no configuration available and it just works, leaving a cookie on the users browser to check which entries he has loved so that there are no multiple votes. If for some reason you want to change the heart icon, it is located in images/sprites.png, part of the sprite image that contains most images of the theme.
